Today, I challenge you! I challenge you to complete seven days of doing an act of self-love. As you know, I am a self-advocate, but I realized that some people don't know how to. I created this challenge very beginner-friendly not delving into the delving into the heavy stuff but with small gestures that make a huge impact in the way you think and feel about yourself.
So, let's jump right into it! Shall we?
Day 1~ List all things you appreciate about yourself. Listen, it's okay to toot your own horn sometimes. We often forget how dope we are because we let the world, our careers, our families, and our partners define who we are. It's easy to forget who we are when we put everything before us. It can be hard to recognize the things you appreciate about yourself when the world is weighing you down when you're so busy running and deflecting from your reality. Take this moment to understand that you are great and despite what your current circumstances are you are a great value to the world.
Day 2~ Start your day with affirmations When we tell ourselves positive affirmations, we are fostering a mindset that is conducive to growth and self-improvement. By affirming our worth, capabilities, and potential, we are laying the foundation for success and fulfillment. Positive self-talk can boost our confidence, resilience, and overall well-being. Conversely, negative self-talk can be detrimental to our mental and emotional health.
Day 3~ Spend 10 minutes of no screentime
Take advantage of this time to rejuvenate and start anew. This will enable you to confront your thoughts with clarity and tune out any distractions.
Day 4~ Do a Kind deed for someone
Self-love is not always self-centered. Showing kindness to others is also a form of self-care. Acts of compassion have a lasting impact. It is crucial to avoid doing things with ulterior motives, as it can come across as insincere or shallow. Doing good things for people is only a reflection of your radiance even if they don't return the energy.
Day 5~ Concentrate on one goal at a time
No masterpiece is created overnight. It's easy to become frustrated and discouraged when you have so many things going on at once. When you face adversity it can seem almost impossible to reach the next level in life but I'm here to tell you the reality is you can only take it one day at a time because each day brings something different. On this day, my hope for you is to focus on one thing with confidence that whatever you are working on will prosper and then everything else will fall in place.
Day 6~List everything you need to improve in your life This is a great time to evaluate where you are in life, figure out what you want, and create a roadmap on how to get there. You are the only one who can create the blueprint of your life.
Day 7~ Reflect on how to apply these steps in your future
Now that you have successfully laid down the foundation for adding self-love into your daily routine by completing the building blocks, it is time to delve deeper into how these steps can be applied across various facets of your life. By following these same steps, ranging from the most simple to the most complex situations, you are essentially creating a robust framework that will support your journey toward self-love and personal growth.
